Pete Eemeli Parkkonen (born 8 February 1990) is a Finnish singer. He took part in the Finnish Idol competition in its fourth season, then launched a solo career, releasing the albums The First Album in 2009 that topped the Finnish Albums Chart followed by I’m an Accident in 2010. He represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 alongside violinist Linda Lampenius with the song “Liekinheitin”, finishing 6th in the grand final with 279 points.

Erika Susanna Vikman (Finnish: [ˈeːrikɑ ˈsusɑnːɑ ˈʋiːkmɑn]; born 20 February 1993) is a Finnish singer and songwriter. Beginning her career as a Finnish tango singer, Vikman first received recognition after winning Tangomarkkinat in 2016. She later received further nationwide attention following the release of the single “Cicciolina” in 2020, which became her first top five hit in Finland. Her debut self-titled studio album was released the following year, and topped the charts in Finland. Erika Vikman represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 with “Ich komme”, finishing in 11th place with 196 points.

Henri Piispanen (born 17 May 1994) is a Finnish voice actor, singer-songwriter and television presenter. Following his win at Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2024 with Windows95man, the duo represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with the song “No Rules!”, of which he was the producer and uncredited vocalist. As a voice actor, he has voiced many animated films and television shows in Finnish.

Jere Mikael Pöyhönen ([ˈjere ˈmikɑel ˈpøy̯hønen]; born 21 October 1993), known professionally as Käärijä (Finnish: [ˈkæːrijæ]), is a Finnish rapper, singer and songwriter. He represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 with the song “Cha Cha Cha”, placing second with 526 points and finishing first in the public vote with 376. His entry topped the charts in Finland, Sweden, Latvia and Lithuania and reached the top ten in thirteen other countries, becoming the first song in Finnish to reach the top ten of the UK Singles Chart.

The Rasmus is a Finnish rock band that formed in 1994 in Helsinki while the band members were in upper comprehensive school. The original band members were Lauri Ylönen (founder, frontman, lead singer-songwriter), Eero Heinonen (bass), Pauli Rantasalmi (guitar) and Jarno Lahti (drums). Jarno Lahti left the year after and was replaced by Janne Heiskanen in 1995. Heiskanen quit the band in 1999 and was soon replaced by Aki Hakala. The Rasmus represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with “Jezebel”, finishing in 21st place with 38 points.

Blind Channel is a Finnish nu metal band from Oulu. They represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song “Dark Side”, finishing in sixth place. The band define their musical style as “violent pop”.

Aksel Kankaanranta (born 28 January 1998) is a Finnish singer. He was due to represent Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam with the song “Looking Back”, before the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2017, he finished second in The Voice of Finland. He was born in Turku.

Toni-Ville Henrik Virtanen (Finnish: [ˈtoniˌʋilːe ˈhenrik ˈʋirtɑnen]; born 17 July 1975), better known by his stage name Darude (), is a Finnish DJ and record producer from Eura, Satakunta. His music is characterised by its progressive/uplifting style. He started making music in 1995 and released the platinum-selling hit single “Sandstorm” in late 1999. His debut studio album, Before the Storm, was released on 18 September 2000, and sold 800,000 copies worldwide, earning Darude three Finnish Grammy Awards. Darude feat. Sebastian Rejman represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with “Look Away”, finishing in 17th place with 23 points.

Saara Sofia Aalto (born 2 May 1987) is a Finnish singer, songwriter and voice actress. In 2012, she came second in the first season of The Voice of Finland. In 2016, Aalto finished as the runner-up in the thirteenth series of The X Factor UK, which gained her international recognition. In 2018, she represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, in which she qualified for the grand final and finished in 25th place.

Norma John is a Finnish pop music duo consisting of pianist Lasse Piirainen and vocalist Leena Tirronen. Tirronen previously placed third on season one of X Factor Suomi. They represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, with the song “Blackbird” but failed to qualify to the final.

Sandhja Kuivalainen (born 16 March 1991), known professionally as simply Sandhja, is a Finnish singer. She represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song “Sing It Away”. Sandhja was born to an Indo-Guyanese mother and a Finnish father.

“Aina mun pitää” (pronounced [ˈɑi̯nɑ mum ˈpitæː]; English: I always have to) is a song by Finnish punk rock band Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät. The song won Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) 2015 and represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015.

Softengine is a Finnish alternative rock band that represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark, with their song “Something Better”. They released their debut album We Created the World in October 2014. The band’s members were born between 1994 and 1997. The first of two parts of their second studio album was released as an EP on 4 December 2015 entitled From Earth, From Ashes, From Dust.

Kristin “Krista” Siegfrids (born 1985) is a Finnish singer and television presenter. She represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with her entry “Marry Me”. Siegfrids’ debut album, named Ding Dong!, was released in May 2013. As a television presenter, she hosted Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu from 2016 to 2020.

Finland was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song “Da Da Dam” written by Axel Ehnström, and performed by Paradise Oskar, which is the artistic name of singer Axel Ehnström. The Finnish participating broadcaster, Yleisradio (Yle), organised the national final Euroviisut 2011 in order to select the Finnish entry for the contest. 15 entries were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of three semi-finals and a final, taking place in January and February 2011. Ten entries ultimately competed in the final on 12 February where votes from the public selected “Da Da Dam” performed by Paradise Oskar as the winner.

Kuunkuiskaajat (/kuːn.kuˈi skaːjat/; “Moonwhisperers”) was a Finnish female folk duo made up of Värttinä members Susan Aho and Johanna Virtanen, that represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song “Työlki ellää”. The duo won the Finnish national final, Euroviisut 2010, with 42% of the “super final” vote. “Työlki ellää” did not qualify for the final, placing 11th in the first Semi-Final on 25 May 2010, missing the cut by only three points.

Waldo’s People is a Finnish Eurodance band. The lead singer of the band is Waldo, whose real name is Marko Reijonen. They represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009, with the song “Lose Control”. It won a place for the Eurovision final on May 16 as the jury’s chosen act.

Teräsbetoni is a Finnish heavy/power metal band. Their first album, Metallitotuus, was released in 2005 and has so far sold more than 32,000 copies. Teräsbetoni has been strongly influenced by bands such as Manowar. The direct translation of the band’s name is “steel concrete”, Finnish for “reinforced concrete”. Teräsbetoni represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with “Missä miehet ratsastaa”, finishing in 22nd place with 35 points.

Hanna Helena Pakarinen (born 17 April 1981) is a Finnish pop and pop-rock singer who rose to fame as the winner of the first series of the Finnish singing competition Idols in 2004. Since then, she has represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 in her homeland, and has sold over 91,000 certified records in Finland, which places her among the top 50 best-selling female soloists in her home country.

Lordi (Finnish pronunciation: [ˈloːrdi]) is a Finnish rock band from Rovaniemi. The band was formed in 1992 by the band’s lead singer, songwriter and costume maker Mr Lordi (Tomi Petteri Putaansuu), and are known for wearing monster masks and using horror elements with pyrotechnics during concerts and music videos. The band rose to fame in 2002 with their hit single “Would You Love a Monsterman?”, and won the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with their song “Hard Rock Hallelujah”. Lordi has toured and recorded actively since 2002, and Mr Lordi upgrades the band’s costumes and masks for each album.

Finland was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 with the song “Why?”, composed by Mika Toivanen, with lyrics by Steven Stewart, and performed by Geir Rönning. The Finnish participating broadcaster, Yleisradio (Yle), organised the national final Euroviisut 2005 to select its entry for the contest. 24 entries were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of four semi-finals and a final, taking place in January and February 2005. Six entries competed in each semi-final and the top three from each semi-final, as selected solely by a public vote, advanced to the final.

Jari Veikko Sillanpää (Finnish pronunciation: [ˈjɑri ˈsilːɑmpæː]; born 16 August 1965) is a Finnish-Swedish singer. With over 820,000 records sold, he is the fifth-best-selling music artist and second-best-selling solo artist in Finland. Jari Sillanpää represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with “Takes 2 to Tango”, finishing in 14th place with 51 points.

Finland was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2000 with the song “A Little Bit”, composed by Luca Genta, with lyrics by Gerrit aan’t Goor, and performed by Nina Åström. The Finnish participating broadcaster, Yleisradio (Yle), organised the national final Euroviisut 2000. The broadcaster returned to the contest after a one-year absence following its relegation from 1999 as one of the six entrants with the least average points over the preceding five contests. 12 entries were selected to compete in the national final, which consisted of a semi-final and a final, taking place in January and February 2000.

Edea is a Finnish musical group. The Edea’s song lyrics are written in an older form of the Finnish language and speak of old traditions as well. The mysterious runic symbols inscribed on the bows of Viking boats, door posts, drinking vessels, and amulets as well as the Finnish composer Sibelius are the source of Edea’s music. Edea competed in the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 with their song, Aava.

Jasmine Tatjana Anette Valentin (born in Helsinki, 22 August 1976), known mononymously as Jasmine, is a Finnish Romani singer. She represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 1996 with the song Niin kaunis on taivas, placed 23rd. After Eurovision, she had appearances in various countries, including Turkey, Spain and Greece.

Finland was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1994 with the song “Bye Bye Baby”, written by Kari Salli and Markku Lentonen, and performed by the duo CatCat. The Finnish participating broadcaster, Yleisradio (Yle), organised the national final Euroviisut 1994 in order to select its entry for the contest. Ten entries were selected to compete in the national final on 5 March 1994 where votes from the public selected “Bye Bye Baby” performed by CatCat as the winner with 25,834 votes. Finland competed in the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 30 April 1994.

Katri Helena Kalaoja (née Koistinen; born 17 August 1945) is a retired Finnish singer. Katri Helena represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1979 with “Katson sineen taivaan”, finishing in 14th place with 38 points; and later represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1993 with “Tule luo”, finishing in 17th place with 20 points.

Pekka Juhani “Pave” Maijanen (3 September 1950 – 16 January 2021) was a Finnish musician, who worked as a singer, songwriter, bass player, keyboard player, drummer, guitarist and producer during his long career. As well as his own solo career, Maijanen was a member of The Royals, Rock’n’Roll Band, Pepe & Paradise and he was the keyboard player and producer of Dingo and the Hurriganes. Maijanen’s first work as a producer was for the album Nuclear Nightclub by Wigwam. Pave represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1992 with “Yamma Yamma”, finishing in 23rd place with 4 points.

Kaija Kärkinen (born 9 September 1962) is a Finnish singer and actress. She represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 1991, with the song “Hullu yö”, finishing 20th. Kärkinen was born in Sodankylä. She started her career in the group Lato as a vocalist.

Finland was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1990 with the song “Fri?”, composed by Kim Engblom, Tina Krause, and Janne Engblom, with lyrics by Stina Engblom, and performed by the band Beat. The Finnish participating broadcaster, Yleisradio (Yle), selected its entry through a national final. This was the first time that the Finnish entry had been sung in Swedish at the Eurovision Song Contest. After that the only other time Finland has entered the contest with a song in Swedish was in 2012 with “När jag blundar” performed by Pernilla Karlsson.

Terttu Anneli Orvokki Saaristo (born 15 February 1949) is a Finnish singer and actress, best known internationally for her participation in the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest.

Finland was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1988 with the song “Nauravat silmät muistetaan”, composed by Pepe Willberg, with lyrics by Kirsti Willberg, and performed by the band Boulevard. The Finnish participating broadcaster, Yleisradio (Yle), selected its entry in the contest through a national final.

Virve Hannele “Vicky” Rosti (born 10 November 1958) is a Finnish singer of popular music. Her most famous songs include “Kun Chicago kuoli” (the debut single from 1975, a Finnish language cover version of “The Night Chicago Died” by Paper Lace), “Tuolta saapuu Charlie Brown” (“Charlie Brown” by Benito di Paula), “Menolippu” (“One Way Ticket”), “Oon voimissain” (“I Will Survive”), “Tunnen sen täysillä taas” (“Total Eclipse of the Heart”), “Sata salamaa” (One hundred lightnings) and “Jolene”. During her career, Rosti has sold over 75,000 certified records, which places her among the top 50 best-selling female soloists in Finland. Rosti was born in Helsinki, and represented her home country in the Eurovision Song Contest 1987 in Belgium.

Kari Kuivalainen (born 14 November 1960) is a Finnish singer-songwriter, best known for his participation in the 1986 Eurovision Song Contest. Kuivalainen was primarily a composer rather than a singer, and in 1985 he submitted his song “Haaveissa vainko oot mun?” (“Am I Only Dreaming You?”) to the Finnish Eurovision selection, where it was performed by Finland’s 1981 Eurovision entrant, Riki Sorsa and finished second. In 1986, he entered another song, “Päivä kahden ihmisen”, which was originally intended for singer Kaija Koo. However, she declined the chance to participate, so Kuivalainen decided to perform the song himself at the National Final, where he was the choice of the jury (by a margin of only one point over former Eurovision participant Kirka) to go forward to represent Finland at the 31st Eurovision Song Contest.

Sonja Lumme (born 6 October 1961, in Kristinestad) is a singer in Finland who represented her country in the Eurovision Song Contest 1985 in which she sang Eläköön elämä. She got 58 points and came 9th place overall. Lumme made further attempts to win for Finland, participating in the 1988 Finnish final and in 1989, she came fifth with “Rakkauden Laulut”. Her final attempt was in 1992 with the song “Rakkauden bulevardi” which came third.

Kirill “Kirka” Babitzin (Russian: Кирилл Бабицын; 22 September 1950 in Helsinki, Finland – 31 January 2007 in Helsinki, Finland) was a Finnish vocalist and musician. One of the most commercially successful artists from Finland, his career lasted from the late 1960s until his death in 2007. Sales of Kirka’s records have exceeded one million copies. During his career, Kirka was awarded five Emma prizes. Kirka represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1984 with “Hengaillaan”, finishing in 9th place with 46 points.

Ami Aspelund (born Anne-Marie Aspelund on 7 September 1953) is a Finnish singer. She is the younger sister of singer Monica Aspelund. Ami Aspelund represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1983 with “Fantasiaa”, finishing in 11th place with 41 points.

Timo Kojo (born 9 May 1953) is a Finnish pop rock singer. He was born in Helsinki, and started his recording career in 1977 when his band, Madame George, released their only album, Madame George: What’s Happening?. Kojo’s first solo album, So Mean, was a hit in Finland. The second sold equally well, though it was not considered quite as good. Kojo represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1982 with “Nuku pommiin”, finishing in 18th place.

Esko Richard “Riki” Sorsa (26 December 1952 – 10 May 2016) was a Finnish pop singer. He started his career in 1974 as the lead singer in the band The Zoo. He represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 1981 with the entry “Reggae OK”, a reggae influenced song in Finnish which came 16th (out of 20 countries). The song was composed by Jim Pembroke, the lyrics were written by Olli Ojala, and it was conducted by Otto Donner.

Finland was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1980 with the song “Huilumies”, composed by Aarno Raninen, with lyrics by Vexi Salmi, and performed by Vesa-Matti Loiri. The Finnish participating broadcaster, Yleisradio (Yle), selected its entry through a national final.

Seija Saara Maria Simola (25 September 1944 – 21 August 2017), married name Franzén, was a Finnish singer. Simola was born in Helsinki. She began her musical career in the mid-1960s, in the band Eero Seija & Kristian Trio, and her debut solo album, Seija Simola 1, was released in 1970. The 1970s would be her most successful decade. Seija Simola represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1978 with “Anna rakkaudelle tilaisuus”, finishing in 18th place with 2 points.

Monica Helena Aspelund (born 16 January 1946) is a Finnish singer. She is the older sister of Ami Aspelund. Monica Aspelund represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1977 with “Lapponia”, finishing in 10th place with 50 points.

Matti Kalevi Siitonen (23 July 1942 – 23 April 2021), known professionally as Fredi, was a Finnish comedic actor, musician, singer/songwriter and television presenter. Domestically he was best known as a founding member of the comedic variety ensemble Kivikasvot. Fredi and the Friends represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1976 with “Pump-Pump”, finishing in 11th place with 44 points.

Pihasoittajat (1969 to 1975) was a Finnish folk music band with modern popular music influences. Pihasoittajat represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1975 with “Old Man Fiddle”, finishing in 7th place with 74 points.

Carita Elisabeth Holmström (born 10 February 1954) is a Finnish pianist, singer and songwriter, born in Helsinki. She has written and played jazz and classical music during her career. She also formed half of a duo, Carita & Marianne, with Marianne “Maru” Nyman. She represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 1974 with the song “Keep Me Warm”, finishing 13th.

Marion Evi Rung (born 7 December 1945) is a Finnish pop singer. She is known for having represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1962 and 1973. Her 1962 Eurovision song was placed 7th, and in 1973, she managed to bring Finland’s second best result in the contest until 2006 by finishing in 6th place. She also won the Grand Prix of the Sopot International Song Festival in 1974 and the Intervision Song Contest 1980 with “Where is the Love.”

Kim Floor (born 14 March 1948 in Porvoo) is a Finnish singer, actor and television host. Päivi Paunu and Kim Floor represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1972 with the song “Muistathan” (“I Hope You Remember”). In the 1990s, Floor hosted the television game show Onnenpyörä, the Finnish version of Wheel of Fortune.

Markku Aro (Finnish pronunciation: [ˈmɑrkːu ˈɑro]; born Markku Tuomas Puputti on 3 February 1950 in Mouhijärvi, Finland), is a Finnish singer who represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 1971 in Ireland with the pop-duo Koivistolaiset. They appeared with the song “Tie uuteen päivään” (“Road to a New Day”). He has released many albums in his country and was awarded with the Iskelmä-Finlandia prize for schlager music in 2017.

Jarkko ja Laura (English: Jarkko and Laura) were a Finnish pop-duo. They first had their break on the Finnish music scene in 1966, with a mildly successful song written by Laura, “Meidän laulumme”. From then on, they released many singles, along with a few covers of English songs such as “The Windmills of Your Mind”, “Cinderella Rockefella”, “Lament of the Cherokee Reservation”, which were popular at the time. They were chosen to represent Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 1969 in Spain with the song Kuin silloin ennen (Like in Those Times).

Kristina Hautala (born 28 June 1948) is a Swedish-Finnish former singer who rose to success in Finland in the late 1960s. Kristina Hautala represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1968 with “Kun kello käy”, finishing in 16th place with 1 points.

Matti Kalevi Siitonen (23 July 1942 – 23 April 2021), known professionally as Fredi, was a Finnish comedic actor, musician, singer/songwriter and television presenter. Domestically he was best known as a founding member of the comedic variety ensemble Kivikasvot. Fredi represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1967 with “Varjoon – suojaan”, finishing in 12th place with 3 points.

Ann-Christine Nyström-Silén (née Nyström; 26 July 1944 – 5 October 2022), also known by her stage name Ann-Christine, was a Finnish singer who performed in the Eurovision Song Contest 1966 for Finland with the song “Playboy”.

Viktor Savvich Klimenko (born 24 November 1942) is a singer who made himself known as the “Singing Cossack”. Viktor Klimenko represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1965 with “Aurinko laskee länteen”, finishing in 15th place.

Lars Anders Fredrik “Lasse” Mårtenson (24 September 1934 – 14 May 2016) was a Finnish singer, composer, actor, and theater conductor. Lasse Mårtenson represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1964 with “Laiskotellen”, finishing in 7th place with 9 points.

Finland was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1963 with the song “Muistojeni laulu”, written by Börje Sundgren, and performed by Laila Halme. The Finnish participating broadcaster, Yleisradio (Yle), selected its entry through a national final and, subsequently, the performer internally once the national final was over. In the national final, held on 14 February 1963, “Muistojeni laulu” was performed once with Marjatta Leppänen and once with Irmeli Mäkelä. After the final Yle organized an extra singing test to find the best vocalist for the song.

Her 1962 Eurovision song was placed 7th, and in 1973, she managed to bring Finland’s second best result in the contest until 2006 by finishing in 6th place. She also won the Grand Prix of the Sopot International Song Festival in 1974 and the Intervision Song Contest 1980 with “Where is the Love.”

Laura “Laila” Annikki Kinnunen (8 November 1939 – 26 October 2000) was a Finnish singer. She was one of the most popular Finnish singers of the 1950s and 1960s, and represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1961, the first time Finland participated in the contest. Born in Vantaa, Finland, she spent her childhood in Sweden as a refugee from the Second World War, returning to Finland at the age of ten. Her first album, released in 1957, was a success, and she continued to release music until 1980.
