Since 1960, Melodi Grand Prix has been Norway’s flagship music competition and one of Eurovision’s most prestigious national selections. Over the decades it has produced three Eurovision winners: Bobbysocks (La det swinge, 1985), Secret Garden (Nocturne, 1995), and Alexander Rybak, whose Fairytale remains one of Eurovision’s most iconic entries after achieving a then-record points total in 2009. Today, Melodi Grand Prix continues to combine established performers with exciting newcomers and enjoys a passionate following across Europe.
